It's a Cushie Life: my journey to Cushing's Syndrome recovery

HomeDestination: WellnessApr 20, 2010
It's going to be a long journey over a difficult road through an uncharted country. Each cushie's path to wellness is unique.

If I travel alone, I will surely lose my way. So I welcome your silent companionship, your loud cheering, your lectures, your pep talks, your humor, and your prayers. In the presence of friends, sorrows are divided and joys are multiplied.

Here you can expect to find more information about Cushing's Syndrome than you ever imagined or wanted to know. I am a teacher by nature and by trade. If I don't have an outlet for teaching, I *will* explode. This is where I will teach about Cushing's Syndrome, and *you*must*not*take*it*as*medical*advice*. I am a patient and not a medical professional. Lessons presented here are limited to what I understand and experience and may contain errors because--even though I wish I did--I don't know it all, and sometimes I misunderstand what I do know.

You will also find my rants venting my frustration with the process. I am a human being by birth. Venting is the healthiest thing we can do with frustration.

You will see my sadness and grief. God counts the tears of women. May they be few and far between.

You will hear my laughter. My life is filled with much joy. I never go on a journey without it.

I will share the lessons I learn along the way. I am a perpetual student. Reflection and sharing are essential to my learning style.

And I will share my milestones. Any excuse for a party....

So if you have a hankering for the open road ahead, lace up your hiking boots, grab your walking stick, and tag along. Oh, did I forget to tell you it is a hike? Mostly uphill. (You might want to pack a lunch in your knapsack.)

Here's a little trick: If you only want information about Cushing's Syndrome, click the "Cushing's Education" tag below. If you don't want to read any of my whines and rants, click on the "good day" tag. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera....

Trick #2: If you want to comment, but don't want to have a Multiply account, you can email me at njanuary at--hotmail. (You know how to turn that into a working email and why I didn't.)

Thanks Nancy for your message regarding my friend. I have passed on what you said and it is now up to them if they wish to take it further. I have told them to contact you if needs be. Jilly.

Kat, the road's been pretty rocky lately. I'm ready for some plain and smooth French Vanilla. Thanks for bringing along the magic cooler.

It's a magic cooler with your favorites (ours as well). When you need an ice cream break, whatever you want will be there. Chocolate sauce and sprinkles, too.
